Love is Anti-Political

"Love, by its very nature is unworldly, and it is for this reason rather than its rarity, that it is not only apolitical but anti-political; perhaps the most powerful of all anti-political forces."

By... Hannah Arendt

Political actions are tied to status, influence, and power. Love, on the other hand, is concerned chiefly about the welfare of others. Love makes decisions that would be unjustifiable from the perspective of political gain.

Sacrificing immediate reward for long-term hopes, love sets aside its own needs. Love knows only the present moment and is shamelessly unconcerned about running out. It is a verb-entirely active. The language of love is movement; it doesn't rely on defined words and knows nothing of policy or regulation.

I welcome joyful acts of love in my relationships. I will listen and watch for creative ways to love the people in my life.
